Ronn Hallett is an Assistant Professor in the Benerd School of Education at the University of the Pacific. His research interests include the influence of social context on educational participation and achievement. As a sociologist, his research seeks to address the social inequalities that influence marginalized student populations. His current research interests fall into three areas: (1) how mobility influences educational participation for homeless and undocumented youth; (2) the process of transitioning to higher education for underserved student groups; and, (3) how to teach writing in graduate school.
