The California State University of Long Beach announced that David J. Verdugo (Ed.D. 05) Superintendent of Paramount Unified School District, was named the recipient of the Long Beach State, College of Education Graduate Student Association Exceptional Leader Award.  The award is given to Superintendents who provide sterling and noteworthy work on behalf of public school children and excellence preserving public education.  The College of Education Graduate Student Association and the Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE) focuses on preserving democracy and diversity during a time of fiscal crisis.  The award was presented to Dr. Verdugo during the school’s Annual Education Institute.
