Rossier released study re: dangers of poor eating habits and obesity among children

obesityOctober 14 through October 20 was National School Lunch Week, an initiative declared by President Barack Obama that sought to increase awareness about healthy eating habits in school cafeterias. In response, Rossier released a study that investigated the dangers of poor eating habits at school and childhood obesity titled Understanding Childhood Obesity. This study is a slideshow that includes alarming statistics about school cafeterias and the effects they can have on students’ nutrition. For example, the study found that only 18% of high school cafeterias offer fruits or vegetables, 50% offered chocolate. Additionally, the study examines childhood obesity trends over the past 40 years, and provided examples for healthy eating in order to combat this problem by 2020.
