Icela Pelayo (PhD ’12) has accepted a position as the new Director of Bilingual and Multicultural Education for the New Mexico Public Education Department, working to improve the education for the state’s 300,000 students. When Icela was at Rossier, she was pursued learning and instruction, teacher professional development, and teacher policy with respect to English language learners (ELLs)
