The Huffington Post featured a study by Tatiana Melguizo in an article by Patrice Peck titled, “STEM Majors Prove Especially Profitable For Minority Students: Study.”

The study found that that minority college students majoring in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields typically earn more than their peers.

“We need to educate students that if they get a job in a STEM-related occupation, they have an even higher earning premium,” said Tatiana Melguizo, a professor at USC and lead author of the study. “Otherwise, students aren’t reaping the economic benefit of all the hard work they went through as undergrads.”
